distribution agreement

Lifeboat Distribution Offers Fresh Virtualization Solution Bundle, Courtesy Of DataCore and Virtual Iron

March 3, 2009 by Robin Wauters Leave a Comment

DataCore and Virtual Iron today announced that distributor Lifeboat Distribution has unveiled a new promotion for their resellers when they purchase DataCore and Virtual Iron licenses together. Lifeboat will provide their resellers with additional margin and marketing support for selling the new bundle. Lifeboat Distribution is an international specialty software distributor for virtualization and other technically sophisticated products.

Services and solutions provider TelosIT already delivers solutions that combine DataCore with Virtual Iron. “Lifeboat’s decision to offer additional margin for using DataCore in conjunction with Virtual Iron is something we will leverage,” said Kevin Carlson, CTO, TelosIT. “This represents a very cost-effective option for resellers and the resellers taking advantage of this opportunity will soon see just what high performance solutions are possible when combining these two robust offerings.”

TelosIT has already enabled Matrix Design Group, an interdisciplinary firm providing professional engineering consulting to expand capacity and achieve dual-site data redundancy, while saving tens of thousands on lease renewals on its previous generation SAN with DataCore and Virtual Iron.

“With DataCore and Virtual Iron in place both administration and management were simplified greatly and I was able to further reduce my IT spending,” said Eric W. Smith, vice president, Matrix Design Group.

DataCore Software Touts Americas Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro

January 14, 2009 by Robin Wauters Leave a Comment

DataCore Software today announced that they have entered into a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, the world’s largest technology distributor. Under terms of the agreement Ingram Micro will distribute DataCore’s full line of software solutions throughout North and South America.

DataCore solves the storage riddle begged by server and desktop virtualization: “How can I overcome the storage bottleneck, performance and high availability challenges that become critical when many servers or desktops are consolidated into but a few physical machines, without blowing my budget for this virtualization project?”

DataCore storage virtualization solutions run on any standard physical or virtual server, and are ideally suited for virtual machine and virtual desktop environments.  Providing true, auto-failover/failback high-availability at prices starting under $10,000 (MSRP), they are affordable to SMB customers, but scale to meet the needs of even the most demanding enterprise customers.

In SANmelody, DataCore provides a cost-effective, feature rich SAN solution that includes automated storage management, high availability, disaster recovery and thin provisioning. SANsymphony is DataCore’s enterprise solution that enables Continuous Data Protection (CDP) and meets the advanced needs of larger organizations in terms of capacity, performance and scalability.

DataCore Goes After Eastern European Market, Partners With Prosper Intelligence

October 20, 2008 by Robin Wauters Leave a Comment

DataCore Software and Prosper Intelligence have announced a distribution agreement for Austria and Eastern Europe. Prosper will resell and support SANmelody and SANsymphony™as the SAN and virtual storage component of its virtualization portfolio. Prosper will integrate both SAN software solutions into its showcase “Virtualization Consolidation Academy” (VCA) lab in Vienna.

The Virtualization Consolidation Academy is an innovative knowledge transfer and competence center, which focuses on helping partners and customers evaluate and train and understand virtualization and consolidation technologies. With the agreement, Prosper can provide an end-to-end virtualization portfolio – Total Enterprise Virtualization – to its partner base with the addition of DataCore’s advanced storage virtualization, fault-tolerant SAN and disaster recovery solutions. In addition, DataCore obtains a key distribution partnership with the ability to support and resell into the emerging and growing Eastern European market.

Prosper currently supports a growing base of resellers in Austria and Eastern Europe, who are implementing virtualization and consolidation projects for business-critical applications, servers and data storage. With today’s agreement, DataCore’s storage virtualization technology complements the existing portfolio of desktop, server and application virtualization with a hardware-independent, flexible and cost effective storage solution. The Virtualization Consolidation Academy is seen as an independent review platform that can be used to evaluate, test, train and showcase virtualization solutions and technologies.

DataCore’s virtualization platforms improve the utilization and performance of disk storage, enable a new level of flexibility and hardware independence and reduce the overall cost of storage area networking. With SANmelody, DataCore provides a cost-effective, feature rich SAN solution that includes automated storage management, high availability, disaster recovery and thin provisioning. SANsymphony is the enterprise solution that enables Continuous Data Protection (CDP) and meets the advanced needs of larger organizations in terms of capacity, performance and scalability.

Marathon Enters Into Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro

October 6, 2008 by Robin Wauters Leave a Comment

Marathon Technologies, provider of high availability software for physical and virtual servers, today announced that it has entered into a distribution agreement with the exclusive Citrix XenServer distributor in North America, Ingram Micro.

Under terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro will offer Marathon’s everRun high availability and disaster recovery software to its resellers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Included in the distribution agreement is Marathon’s everRun VM, the world’s first fault-tolerant, high availability software for server virtualization that is integrated with Citrix XenServer. Citrix XenServer is a dynamic virtualization software platform that virtualizes application workloads across any number of servers in the datacenter as a flexible aggregated pool of computing resources. The combination of Citrix XenServer high-performance, easy-to-use virtualization hypervisor with the proven automated availability of Marathon’s everRun software, enables more organizations to deploy virtualization across a much broader array of applications.

Marathon’s everRun software is for IT professionals who want to prevent outages and data loss in their physical and virtual infrastructures. everRun provides fault-tolerant, high availability for Citrix XenServer and Windows Server to deliver uninterrupted availability, 100 percent data protection, and rapid recovery through a “one-click” operation. Unlike bolt-on failover, cluster, or data replication products that place the burden on the IT professional, everRun software is completely automated. It makes high availability and disaster recovery easy to manage and cost effective for both midsize companies and enterprises.
