Robert Yusin Joins AccelOps As VP, Worldwide Sales

AccelOps, provider of end-to-end monitoring solutions designed for cloud-generation data centers, today announced that Robert Yusin has joined the company as vice president of worldwide sales.

He will lead the company’s global sales growth in the cloud-monitoring marketplace.

A Silicon Valley veteran, Robert Yusin was most recently VP of Sales at Fox Technologies. Previously, he served as EVP of Worldwide Operations at Loglogic, and also managed sales teams in multiple regions at Symantec Corporation.

Yusin holds BA and MBA degrees from Saint Mary’s College, Moraga, California.

Release: VMware Fusion 4

VMware today announced VMware Fusion 4, the “best way to run Windows on a Mac”.

Available now for a promotional price of $49.99, VMware Fusion 4 makes it easy for users to run Windows applications on a Mac.

Fusion 4 has more than 90 new features and is optimized for today’s multi-core Macs and OS X Lion.

VMware Fusion 4 now supports OS X Lion in a virtual machine, allowing users to get more from their Mac by running OS X Lion, OS X Lion Server, Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server and Mac OS X Leopard Server in virtual machines.

The suggested retail price for VMware Fusion 4 is $79.99. Customers who have purchased VMware Fusion 3 on or after July 20, 2011 are eligible for an electronic upgrade to VMware Fusion 4 at no additional cost.

VMware Fusion box products will be available at key resellers including Apple, Apple.com, Amazon.com, Best Buy, Fry’s Electronics and many other stores in the coming days. VMware Fusion is available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.

SeaMicro Adds Ronald Codd To Board of Directors

SeaMicro, maker of low power server technology, has announced the addition of Ronald Codd to its board of Directors, effective immediately. Among other responsibilities, Codd will lead SeaMicro’s audit committee.

Previously, Codd was president and CEO of Momentum Business Applications, Sr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at PeopleSoft, Vice President, Corporate Controller, at MIPS Computer Systems (now MIPS Technologies), and held senior positions at Tandem Computers and Arthur Young & Co.

He is currently a board member of DemandTec, Calypso Technology and Drobo (formerly DataRobotics).

Formerly, Codd sat on the boards of Data Domain (now EMC), Adept Technology, Agile Software (now Oracle), Interwoven (now Autonomy), Virage (acquired by Autonomy) as well as many other public and private companies.

Codd holds a bachelor’s in business from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s in management from Northwestern University.

Ex-Oracle SVP Miguel Milano Appointed President, EMEA At Salesforce.com

Salesforce.com, the well-known enterprise cloud computing company, today announced the appointment of Miguel Milano to the position of president, EMEA and executive vice president, EMEA sales.

He will report to Hilarie Koplow-McAdams, EVP, worldwide sales, Salesforce.com.

Milano was previously an executive at Oracle, where he served as SVP, head of European sales for Exadata and the leader of Oracle Direct, EMEA. Prior to Oracle, worked at companies such as McKinsey, i2, Telefonica and PeopleSoft.

Milano holds a degree in engineering from Polytechnic University of Catalonia as well as an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.

DynamicOps Raises $5 Million From Intel Capital

DynamicOps has secured $5 million in funding from Intel Capital, adding to the company’s previously announced $11 million Series B round, which was originally led by Sierra Ventures and included Next World Capital.

DynamicOps is using the capital from the extended B round to fund global sales, marketing and development of its enterprise cloud solutions.

The investment from Intel Capital funding follows a series of achievements for DynamicOps, including ‘Best of VMworld 2011’ for private cloud and ‘Gartner Cool Vendor for Cloud Management’ as well as record business growth.

DynamicOps says revenue more than doubled and new customer acquisitions grew by 300 percent in the first half of 2011 compared to the same period last year.

Hitachi Data Systems Acquires BlueArc In All-Cash Deal

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, has acquired BlueArc Corporation, a provider of scalable, high performance network storage solutions.

Building upon a successful 5 year OEM partnership, Hitachi Data Systems and BlueArc will give customers the combination of Hitachi quality, reliability and support with innovative, highly scalable, high performance BlueArc network attached storage (NAS).

Hitachi Data Systems completed the acquisition of all outstanding shares of BlueArc in an all-cash transaction.

Wells Fargo Securities was the exclusive financial advisor to Hitachi Data Systems.

BofA Merrill Lynch acted as financial advisor and Credit Suisse as a co-advisor to BlueArc for this transaction.
