Xsigo Teams Up With Hitachi, CTC for I/O Virtualization
Xsigo Systems today announced that Xsigo Systems Japan partnered with Itochu Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) and Hitachi to jointly offer I/O virtualization solutions to the Japanese market.
The companies offer immediate availability of a jointly developed solution that will allow enterprise customers to rapidly implement cloud computing environments. The combined solution includes Hitachi storage and integrated system management software; the Xsigo I/O Director; and pre-configured templates that facilitate deployment in as little as half the time required for custom made systems.

China VoIP & Digital Telecom Subsidiary Signs Virtualization Agreement with Shandong University of Finance
Jinan Yinquan Technology , one of the wholly-owned subsidiaries of China VoIP & Digital Telecom, today announced that it has launched its integrated datacenter and desktop virtualization solutions in Shandong University of Finance (the SDUF), a well-known finance university in Shandong Province.
Desktop virtualization separates a personal desktop computer from the physical machine through a client-server computing model. The resulting “virtualized” desktop is stored on a remote central server, instead of on the local storage of a remote client. Thus, when users work from their remote desktops, all the programs, applications, processes, and data are maintained and run centrally.

Wind River, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel, today announced it will add the Virtutech product line to its embedded software product portfolio after the completion of Intel’s acquisition of Virtutech signed earlier this week. Virtutech, founded in 1998, is based in San Jose, Calif. and operates a development center in Stockholm, Sweden.
Wind River will sell and support Virtutech’s flagship development platform, Simics, as a stand-alone product and will continue to support all current architectures including ARM, Intel, MIPS and PowerPC.

In its complaint, filed today in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, Phoenix alleges DeviceVM is infringing on Phoenix’s United States Patent No. 6,519,659.
